'When I have a camera in my hand, I know no limits"
Workshops tailored for You
I am now offering a range of brand new workshops for people who would like to learn the basics of dance & fashion photography or are already photographing dancers and models and would like to develop their skills & technique further.
I will also be offering workshops which will cover editing using both Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop
I have over 6 years experience of shooting dance and fashion photography and have worked with hundreds of different dancers and models in this time. I have also been commissioned by some of the most popular dance brands and have undertaken work for schools, colleges and teachers. Prior to being a full time dance photographer, I was a professional wedding photographer for over 10 years and have also worked for some of the largest digital media brands across the globe.
Photography experience aside, it is my communication, attention to detail and people skills that will make your time with me a great investment. My end goal is to equip you with the basics for taking your dance photography further and to leave feeling with a sense of achievement.
The courses will take place both on location or in a studio environment and will be tailored to individual needs and level of experience.
Some of my workshops will be 'one off' training days to give you the basics. Other workshops will be part of a series that you can join so that you can gain a more in-depth knowledge over time.
There are many aspects to consider when photographing a dancer or model. Lighting, composition, framing and catching them 'at their perfect moment' are just a few.
Versatility is key
I try to stay as original and unique as possible and have shot concepts and styles that have never been done before. I always encourage my dancers to be creative, step out of their comfort zone and unleash their inner spark.
Timing is critical
A dancer or model must be captured at their right moment and your goal is to always show them at their absolute best moment.
Lighting is king
It can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. Choosing the right time of day to shoot can make or break your pictures and this is why many of my photoshoots take place early morning, late evening or even through the night. I rarely shoot during the midday.
Its a Partnership
The moment you meet your client, trust must be established. If it's their first photoshoot, you need to gain their confidence in seconds and do what you can to put them at ease. Focus on their strengths first and then help them improve their weaknesses. Getting the absolute best from my clients on a shoot, is always my top priority.
Delivering the end result
Photographing your client is only the beginning. Getting home, downloading the pictures and sorting through what worked and what didn't is the next step. Editing your subjects images is the icing on the cake and I always try to minimise editing by getting things right when taking the shot. The better your original picture is, the less time you will spend with editing.
I will be offering workshops for editing pictures using both professional and easy to use software.
If you would like to step into the world of Dance & Fashion Photography, or if you are a photographer looking to progress your skills further, keep reading and see the links below for my upcoming workshops. Your Photography journey is in safe hands!
Here are my workshops...
Use the Beach as a backdrop
Nothing beats the drama, atmosphere and flow of shooting on a beach. The dancers have space to express their emotions, you have control over an expansive area and the light on offer is your tool to create beautiful pictures. My beach photography workshops run early mornings or late evenings to take advantage of the best light available.
Beach Photography Workshop dates are for May/June/July 2025. Contact me below to register interest.

Master Light in the Studio
Many photographers are apprehensive about shooting in a studio for the first time. The lights, modifiers and huge step away from using natural light, can all feel a little overwhelming. My Studio workshops will dispel any fears or concerns you have and you'll get access to some of the best studio equipment available to try your hand at Studio Photography.
My Studio Workshops are now done on a private 1 to 1 basis and take place at a studio space in Northampton. Get in touch with me below for more information and to arrange a workshop booking.

Take your portrait photography to the Streets
Using the right elements in portrait photography can make a huge difference to your final collection of client images. I always consider what backdrop will work best with a subjects outfit choices and find a way to make the available light enhance the picture to reflect the mood. Using walls, doorways, shop windows & vehicles add a storytelling element and shooting against clean backgrounds is key. My portrait workshops will equip you with the essentials to go out and shoot with confidence and creativity!
My Portrait & Street Photography Workshops are now done on a private 1 to 1 basis and take place in Central London, Yorkshire, Manchester & Liverpool. Get in touch with me below for more information and to arrange a workshop booking.

Workshop FAQ's
Who are these workshops for?
All of my workshops are aimed at photographers who have little or no experience with photographing dancers and models or for those who have experience but want to develop their photography further.
What will I get from workshop?
An insight into the basics of dance and fashion photography whilst harnessing my experience, knowledge and expertise in this field.
You will learn what camera settings to use, how to work with available light, how to effectively communicate with your clients and the importance of framing and composition.
How Long does a workshop last and what time does it start?
My group workshops run for 3 or 4 hour blocks with some light breaks in between. Please refer to the workshop you are interested in joining for exact timings.
What type of camera do I need to bring with me?
You must have a DSLR, or Mirrorless camera with a manual mode option and a fixed or zoom lens with an aperture of at least F5.6
What happens if it rains or the weather is really bad?
The workshop will go ahead unless there is torrential downpour or adverse weather conditions that will affect my ability to complete your workshop and you to take pictures.
How many photographers will be on the workshop and will I receive 1 to 1 guidance?
My workshops are only carried out on a 1-1 basis. This is to ensure that I can tailor the workshop to your exact requirements and focus 100% of my time and energy on you.
Who will the models be and can I keep the pictures I take?
The models you will photograph will all have previous experience with photoshoots and will be there to make your experience as amazing as possible. Models who are under the age of 18, will be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times and you will not be allowed to photograph them without myself or their parent or guardian present. The photographs you capture on your workshop, are yours to keep. However, if you post any to social media, you please tag and credit the models you work with.
How much does the Workshop cost and how do I make a booking?
You are paying a fee that reflects my time as a professional photographer and for the experience, tips and insights I can pass to you on the day. You are also contributing to the costs involved with hiring models for your workshop and studio space hire where applicable.
What happens if I cannot attend your workshop? Will I lose the money I have paid?
In the event that you have to cancel your workshop, the deposit or balancing payment you have made is non refundable. However, in most circumstances and depending on the date you cancelled, your deposit and payments will be transferred to a future workshop you would like to book.
Are you fully insured to carry out Photography Workshops?
Yes. I have public and product liability insurance to the sum of 10 million and also have an indemnity insurance package which is specifically for my photography tutoring and covers both myself and the photographers who attend my workshops.
